1st Day of NFL Training Camp Injuries

The first day of NFL training camps started today Thursday, July 27th. With the preseason starting as soon as August 3rd with the NFL Hall of Fame game, these teams have to move quickly to get into game ready-shape with their knowledge of the playbook but also with their bodies.

A couple star players have already suffered injuries that could hold them out for the start of the regular season.

Jalen Ramsey Miami Dolphins

Jalen Ramsey is still seen as one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. That is why the Miami Dolphins went out and got him this offseason but on the first day of training camp he suffered a torn meniscus. This is a massive blow to the Dolphins who dealt with some serious injuries last year that derailed their promising season. Ramsey will likely miss six to eight weeks which means that he probably won’t play until at least week three or later in the regular season.

Joe Burrow Cincinnati Bengals

A serious scare in Bengals camp occurred when Joe Burrow had to be carted off of the field after he went down to the ground on a non-contact injury holding his lower leg. Officially the Bengals reported the injury as a calf strain, which doesn’t sound horrible but it is a worse injury than people realize. Burrow may miss all of the preseason but there is hope he will be back for the first game of the regular season.
