Two star quarterbacks in the NFL just got offered huge contracts this week. Jalen Hurts signed a deal that extends him for five more years in Philadelphia for $255 million with $179 million guaranteed. Lamar Jackson reportedly got offered a deal that would net him around $200 million guaranteed. Jackson’s deal has not been signed but Hurts has locked his deal in.
Jalen Hurts is now the highest paid NFL player ever with this contract. Hurts was just a late second-round pick in 2020 and was seen as a project type quarterback. When given a chance in his rookie season to start he was good but didn’t really begin to look like a star until 2021. Last season in 2022 he was a legit star leading his team all the way to the Super Bowl.
Lamar Jackson has famously been trying to get a deal with the Ravens, or any team for that matter. Reportedly he was offered $200 million from the Ravens which is what he has been wanting. It is unclear why he hasn’t accepted this offer if it is indeed on the table. Baltimore also just added a nice target that he wanted in Odell Beckham Jr. in free agency.
