2nd Round Eastern Conference NBA Previews

The second round of the NBA Playoffs are underway after the Cleveland Cavaliers managed a massive comeback in Game 7 to advance over the Orlando Magic. Let’s look at some quick previews of the Eastern Conference games for the second round.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Boston Celtics

Following that Game 7 comeback over Orlando, the Cavaliers will have to continue to fight uphill. The Boston Celtics were the overwhelming favorite to win the East before the playoffs began and some people even had them as the favorite to win the championship. It will be a very tough matchup for Cleveland who relies heavily on Donovan Mitchell to score for them. Someone else will need to step up if they are going to have a chance in this series.

For Boston, they should feel confident about their chances of advancing. They had little problems dealing with the Miami Heat in the first round and are one of the deepest and most-talented teams in the NBA from top to bottom.

Indiana Pacers at New York Knicks

The Pacers may have gotten lucky with their draw in the first round. As the 6 seed they faced off against Milwaukee but the Bucks were without their best player, Giannis Antetokounmpo, for the entire series and without Damian Lillard for most of it as well.

For the Pacers to get a win they will have to find an effective way to score against one of the NBA’s top defenses in New York. It should prove to be an entertaining series but favors the Knicks for now.
