It was a solid and deep NBA rookie class in 2022. Some players already proved they could be stars in the league but these players may establish themselves even more in 2023.
Chet Holmgren Thunder
Chet Holmgren’s season was over before it even started as he broke his ankle in a summer pro-am game. The Thunder looked good at the end of last season and with Chet on the roster they could be a playoff team. He brings elite-shot blocking and a big man who can handle and shoot the ball well. Look for him to make a big impact next season.
Johnny Davis Wizards
After not playing at all really in the beginning of the season the Wizards finally gave the 10th pick in the draft big minutes in the final dozen or so games. He proved he could score the ball effectively and may have a much bigger role next season, especially if the Wizards trade Bradley Beal. His game is similar to Beal’s and if he comes back with an improved shot he could take a big leap next season.
Jabari Smith Jr. Rockets
At times last season Jabari Smith Jr. looked really good and at other times he looked really bad. With a new head coach in Ime Udoka and likely a completely different roster around him next season, Smith could have a better and more efficient season. Look for him to take his game up a notch in 2023.
