2nd Year NFL Players Who Could Breakout

Kenny Pickett Pittsburgh Steelers

There has been a ton of hype around the Steelers’ starting quarterback. Pickett had a decent rookie season but has looked great in the NFL preseason and has a good amount of weapons around him in Pittsburgh. He can throw to the proven veteran Diontae Johnson, fellow 2nd year player George Pickens, running back Najee Harris or Pat Freiermuth, who many people expect to breakout as well. Look for a big year for Pickett and the Steelers.

Garrett Wilson New York Jets

In Wilson’s rookie season he eclipsed 1,000 yards and won the offensive player of the year. All of that came with below-average quarterback play. Now Wilson will get passes from Aaron Rodgers and has very little competition for targets on the team. It may be hard to improve on a season with 1,100+ yards but with only four touchdowns in his rookie season, we could see him double that amount or more.

Desmond Ridder Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons have named Desmond ridder the starter for the beginning of the season. Ridder didn’t show much as a rookie but will be given a great opportunity this season. He has some great weapons to throw to who were all drafted in the last three years in the first round. This includes tight end Kyle Pitts, wide receiver Drake London, and running back Bijan Robinson. If Ridder doesn’t breakout this season it may be his last as a starter in the NFL.
