Dameon Pierce Texans
The rookie running back had a standout performance in his first game with the team. Pierce saw limited action but in his five carries he ran for 49 yards including a 20-yard run. He looked a lot better than Royce Freeman (12 carries 25 yards) and Marlon Mack (3 carries 6 yards.)
Kenny Pickett Steelers
Another NFL rookie had a great debut. Pickett completed 13 of 15 passes and threw for two touchdowns. He didn’t greatly standout in a three-way QB battle though as Mason Rudolph (9/15 and a touchdown) and Mitchell Trubisky (4/7 one touchdown) were both good as well.
DeeJay Dallas Seahawks
The Seattle running back battle was supposed to be between Rashad Penny and rookie Ken Walker. Dallas was the only one of them to get a carry in week 1 of the preseason and he delivered with 73 yards on 10 carries with one 17-yard touchdown catch. There could be a third in the running back battle in Seattle.
Lance McCutcheon Rams
Lance McCutcheon is an undrafted free agent. He surprised a lot of people with his week 1 performance. The Rams have a ton of wide receivers that should make the roster as well as they might be bringing back OBJ. Five catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns is definitely a good way to make a case for a roster spot.
