Week 2 of the NFL preseason will be in the books following this Monday night game. We had some impressive performances from players looking to make a big impact in 2023. Let’s look at three of the best below.

Miami Dolphins Back Ups

The Dolphins paid Mike White a good amount to be the backup to Tua Tagovailoa who has been often injured in his career so far. On Saturday Skylar Thompson made a case that he should be the immediate backup as he threw three touchdowns on 15-22 passing in a blowout win over Houston. Salvon Ahmed may have seemed like the odd man out in Miami’s backfield but he had an impressive performance as well with 99 rushing yards and 32 receivng with a touchdown.

Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receivers

The Chiefs have a ton of promising-young wide receivers and now their job just got tougher. Rashee Rice and Ihmir Smith-Marsette both had massive games this weekend. Rice was a second-round pick and has always been safe to make the team but proved he can have a big role as he had eight catches for 96 yards. Smith-Marsette is not guaranteed to make the roster but had 92 yards and a touchdown, making it harder to cut him while the Chiefs still have Skyy Moore, Kadarius Toney, Richie James, Justin Watson, and other receivers on the bubble.

Daniel Jones

The Giants gave Jones a massive deal and so far in the preseason he has looked improved even from his big year last season. This weekend he completed eight of nine passes with a touchdown. He should have Giants fans feeling good about his new contract heading into the season.
