The 2020 draft class had some immediate NFL starting quarterbacks. While it was rough for most of them, let’s rank how the top five will do in year two.
5. Justin Fields
Fields may have some of the worst talent around him out of this group. Nothing was done to improve that and he lost Allen Robinson. It could be a repeat of last year where Chicago won just six games.
4. Zach Wilson
Hopes are high that Wilson and the Jets can improve a lot. They added some talent around him with a rookie running back and wide receiver, but it likely won’t be enough to take this team to a winning record yet again.
3. Trevor Lawrence
The Jaguars did the most to add weapons for their second-year quarterback. They added Christian Kirk and Zay Jones, two proven veteran wide receivers, to add with Marvin Jones Jr. and also signed Evan Engram who is a talented tight end. Maybe the biggest change was the head coach, which should also be a big improvement.
2. Trey Lance
All signs point to Lance starting next season for the 49ers. He sparingly played in his rookie year, but he had some flashes where he showed off his running and big arm. Lance is in a situation to thrive here and anything less than the playoffs for San Francisco would be dissappointing.
1. Mac Jones
Jones played well for the Patriots in his rookie year. He will be the starter again for the team that won 10 games and made the wildcard under him last year. It could be a breakout year for Jones.
