Big NFL Trade Grades

Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles

For the Eagles this trade gets a D-. The Eagles are bringing in Kenny Pickett as a backup and potential starter if Jalen Hurts just really doesn’t work out but he’s signed through 2028 now. Pickett is not athletic and would run an entirely different offense than Hurts does. For the Steelers this trade gets a B. They got something for Pickett I guess in a third-round pick but they gave up a fourth and a seventh so it’s not really a game changer.

Desmond Ridder for Rondale Moore

For the Atlanta Falcons this trade gets an A-. Desmond Ridder apparently had some market to warrant a productive and young wide receiver. Atlanta got way more for Ridder than Pittsburgh got for Pickett. For the Cardinals this move is a D. Unless they don’t plan on Kyler Murray being with the team much longer, they gave up a good and young wide receiver for a backup QB. Arizona also has very little talented receivers on this roster right now.

Keenan Allen to the Chicago Bears

This trade is an A for the Chicago Bears. Having Keenan Allen and DJ Moore will give Caleb Williams a ton of weapons in his rookie year making it an easier transition even if Allen has only a couple more years left in him. For the Chargers this trade gets a C-. They gave up their best weapon after also letting go of Austin Ekeler and Mike Williams. Who does this team have left? At least they got a high fourth-round pick.
