Big Pistons Magic Fight Gets Ugly

Towards the end of the first half in the NBA matchup between the Detroit Pistons and the Orlando Magic a fight broke out in the Palace in Detroit.

The fight ensued after Mo Wagner pushed Detroit Pistons’ point guard Killian Hayes into his own bench that was called a loose-ball foul. Detroit shooting guard Hamidou Diallo then shoved Wagner into the bench in retaliation to the foul. Killian Hayes then got up and punched Wagner in the back of the head. Wagner slightly buckled and may have lost consciousness for a moment. It was a heavy blow.

All three players involved in the incident were ejected. The fouled was dirty by Wagner who had no chance of getting to the ball and pushed Hayes in an awkward way which could have injured him. Hayes threw a punch to a defenseless Wagner in a dangerous spot in the back of the head.

There will undoubtedly be at least one suspension coming for Hayes. It is expected that his suspension will be at least two games, if not more. Wagner also may face a suspension due to his dangerous foul and starting the entire situation.

Diallo will likely be suspended for his minor role in the skirmish as well.

Franz Wagner, Cole Anthony, Wendell Carter Jr., Gary Harris, Mo Bamba, R.J. Hampton, Terrence Ross and Admiral Schofield all left the Magic bench and should also face a one-game suspension for that too.
