The 2024 NBA All Star players have been announced and there were some glaring snubs this year. It’s hard to get all of the top players in but these players were seen as near locks but didn’t make it. They could get in as alternates due to some injuries, however.
The one that people are the most up in arms about is Trae Young. Young is averaging 27.3 points and 10.9 assists per game. That’s five more points and just one less assists per game than the consensus starting guard Tyrese Haliburton. The big difference is their record but the margin isn’t as big now as the Pacers have been struggling and Atlanta has been hot winning four in a row. Just five games separates the teams.
De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis
Neither of the Kings’ stars made the All Star roster after both of them making it last year. The Kings are fifth in the Western Conference and are the only team without an All Star in the top 6 in either conference. It’s not like they have bad numbers either. Fox is averaging 27.5 points and Sabonis is averaging a near triple double: 20, 13, and 8.
In the West Alperen Sengun, Rudy Gobert, Lauri Markkanen and James Harden also have strong cases along with Derrick White and Scottie Barnes in the East.
