Biggest NHL Free Agency Deals so Far

The NHL Draft has completed and now teams have been signing free agents to some big contracts. A lot of players are locking up long-term deals while others have been gettin large amounts per year on shorter deals. Let’s look at some of the biggest and most impactful deals so far.

Kevin Fiala Kings seven-year $55.125M

After spending his last four seasons with Minnesota, Fiala has signed a long deal with the Kings. Last year he had a career-high 33 goals and 52 assists.

Kris Letang Penguins six-year $36.6M

A well-deserved contract for Letang, who has spent his entire career since 2006 with the Penguins. He had the most points in a season of his career last year and can still make a big impact as one of the league’s best defencemen.

Filip Forsberg Predators eight-year $68M

Forsberg re-signed with the Predators after having the best season of his career with 42 goals and 42 assists. This deal should make him a Predator for life.

Mikhail Sergachev Lightning eight-year $68M

Sergachev has been a huge part of the Lightning’s success over the past three years. He has won two Stanley Cups and nearly won a third this season. The Lightning and Sergachev will hope to win another one during this lengthy contract he signed up for.
