Biggest Surprises in the NBA So Far this Year

The NBA season is heating up and so far we have seen some things that have shocked us. Not many people thought that things would play out like they have so far. Let’s look at some of what has gone down in the association in the first two months.

Success of the In-Season Tournament

The idea of the NBA In-Season Tournament was intriguing but many people thought it would be hard to pull off. Teams clearly were going harder in the group stage games and with colorful courts and new jerseys it was always clear which teams were playing games that counted for it. The first single-elimination game where Indiana beat Boston was one of the best games of the year of the early season.

The Orlando Magic are third in the Eastern Conference

Last year this team won 34 games and didn’t make any significant changes to their roster. Early in the season they find themselves in third in the Eastern Conference and have already won 14 games while losing just seven. Big jumps from Jalen Suggs, Cole Anthony, Paolo Banchero, and Franz Wagner have turned this team into a playoff hopeful.

How Bad some Teams Are

The Spurs and Wizards have just three wins while the Pistons have two. There are a lot of good teams but the bad ones are really bad. Also, four more teams have seven or less wins.
