Bradley Beal Kicks Off the NBA Offseason

The Washington Wizards have officially kicked off the NBA offseason and their long-overdue rebuild. On Sunday the Wizards traded Beal to the Phoenix Suns getting Chris Paul, Landry Shamet, multiple second-round picks, and multiple pick swaps.

This deal may be the first of many of the NBA offseason. Chris Paul for one is expected to be traded again before he plays a game in Washington and other stars may be on the move as well.

Bradley Beal has played all of his nine seasons in the NBA with the Wizards and just recently signed a massive deal that will pay him $50 million per season on average through 2027. This likely hurt his trade value but it does give Washington a good start on a rebuild.

The Wizards now can try to trade Kristaps Porzingis as well and build around Johnny Davis and the eighth overall pick in Thursday’s draft.

Other teams who may be in line for some big moves around the draft are the Portland Trail Blazers and the New Orleans Pelicans. The Blazers may trade their third overall pick. The Pelicans are rumored to be interested in trading for the second pick, even if that means giving up Zion Williamson or Brandon Ingram.

We could see some more massive deals before and during the 2023 NBA Draft.
