Breakout Stars of the 2024 NBA Playoffs

The NBA Finals is nearly set. The Boston Celtics swept the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals and the Dallas Mavericks have won the first three games of the the Western Conference Finals. Let’s look at some breakout stars from these playoffs so far.

Anthony Edwards

Regardless if the Minnesota Timberwolves get swept in the Western Conference Finals or comeback to win the series in the seven games, Anthony Edwards has established himself as one of the league’s stars. The 22-year-old carried this team to the semifinals with some monster games to beat the defending champion Denver Nuggets. He should be a star for years to come.

Andrew Nembhard

Andrew Nembhard was the fifth option at best for the Indiana Pacers heading into the Eastern Conference Finals. Despite the Pacers getting swept, he showed some star capabilities in the final two games. With Tyrese Haliburton out, Nembhard carried the load for the Pacers with 32 points and 9 assists and then 24 points and 10 assists. The 24-year-old could get a big extension this offseason.

Derrick Lively

The rookie has been in and out of the starting lineup but commonly closed games and played more minutes than the starter, Daniel Gafford, for Dallas. He was terrific before his injury. Hopefully he will back for the Mavericks if they make it to the finals.
