Bronny James 1st-Round Pick?

Bronny James or LeBron James Jr. is slated to be drafted into the NBA after just one less-than-impressive season at USC. When Bronny declared for the draft many experts believed he would go undrafted or possibly be taken by his father’s team, the Los Angeles Lakers, with the 55th pick in the draft. Now, a lot has changed.

Reportedly, Bronny James has refused to workout for at least ten teams after a standout NBA Draft Combine. Bronny did well in the scrimmages and especially stood out in the three-point-shooting drill and the vertical jump. Where he drew red flags was at his height of just over 6’1″ when he was listed as 6’4″ at USC.

Now, Bronny has only confirmed that he will do workouts for the Lakers and the Phoenix Suns before the draft. Phoenix has the 22nd pick and is apparently considering him there which would make him a first-round pick.

The concerns around Bronny as an NBA prospect are his size, which is even small for a point guard in the NBA, yet he doesn’t posses many skills that a tradition NBA point guard has. At the next level he projects to be a defensive guard that could develop into a catch and shoot three-point shooter as well.
