Bulls, Pelicans, and Timberwolves look for Playoff Upsets

Three underdog teams have come out strong in the first couple NBA Playoff games. The sixth seed Chicago Bulls, eighth seed New Orleans Pelicans, and the seventh seed Minnesota Timberwolves all will look for a first-round upset. No one saw these teams as having a chance heading into each of these series, but they are all currently tied 1-1 in their respective matchups.

Chicago Bulls

The Bulls put together a super team and looked great early in the season as they held the first spot for some time in the Eastern Conference. They suffered some injuries and had rough stretches at the tail end of the season and they were counted out come playoff time. After a big win on the road in Milwaukee they will now go home to look to take the lead over the defending-champion Milwaukee Bucks

The Pelicans made it into the playoffs via the ninth spot in the Western Conference’s play-in tournament. Phoenix beat them easily in the first game, but game two saw the Pelicans win after Devin Booker suffered an injury that could keep him out the rest of the series. It’s a big blow to the Suns and it could cause an upset opportunity for the Pelicans.

Minnesota Timberwolves

The Timberwolves destroyed the No. 2 Memphis Grizzlies on the Grizzlies’ home court in game one. Game two was a different story, but going back home to Minnesota with this high-powered offense could cause an upset here.
