Carson Wentz Traded to the Washington Commanders

The quarterback carousel continues in the NFL as Carson Wentz was traded to the Washington Commanders for two third-round picks.

Wentz was great after the initial three weeks of the year in his first season for the Indianapolis Colts. After losing three straight games, the Colts won nine of their next 14 games. It is a little surprising that that Colts let him go after just one year and with the success the team had with him late in the year.

For the Commanders, they get a huge upgrade at quarterback. Wentz is a guy who can throw and run with the best of them in the NFL. In 2021 he threw 27 touchdowns with just seven interceptions. He cut down on making a lot of big mistakes which was a knock on him earlier in his career.

The question will be if he can handle a bigger role in the offense, as with the Colts, he was more of a game manager as the running game handled the majority of the offensive load.

Wentz can still make impressive plays and throws that shows he is still one of the best talents in the league, but he will also make throws that make you wonder what he was thinking. Check out both below:

The Colts now will be in the market for a new quarterback and could possibly look to the draft to fill that void.
