The No. 4 Dallas Mavericks tied the series up against the No. 5 Utah Jazz on Monday night 1-1 in the NBA Playoffs first round. After dropping the first game by six points, the Mavericks were able to win the next game by six themselves.
The first two games took place on the Dallas Mavericks’ home court where the Mavs split wins with the Jazz. Now they must go into Utah to face the Jazz on their home court for two games.
Luka Doncic has been out for the first two games but is expected to play after the team has two days rest before their next contest on Thursday.
Without Luka, Spencer Dinwiddie and Jalen Brunson have really stepped up their games. Dinwiddie had 22 and 8 assists in the first game and 17 and 6 assists in the game two win. Brunson was big in game one with 24 points but erupted for 41 points in game two to secure a win for Dallas.
If Luka can’t go again on Thursday look for Brunson to be the focal point of the offense again. Utah will undoubtedly be a big favorite at home without Luka playing, and if Luka is back, expect them to still be the favorites in this four vs five first-round matchup.
