Denver Has Two MVPs?

Denver could have two league MVP winners in the four major US sports this year. Nikola Jokic looks like he is on his way to yet another MVP this season as well as Nathan McKinnon for the Colorado Avalanche in the NHL.

Denver could be the first city since Los Angeles to have two MVPs in the same year. Those two former Los Angeles players are not too bad themselves in Wayne Gretzky and Magic Johnson who were playing on the Los Angeles Kings and Los Angeles Lakers, respectively when they both won in 1989. It would be quite the headline and it looks like it is very likely to happen.

Currently, with just a few games left in the NBA season, Jokic is -3000 to win the NBA MVP. That means you would have to bet $3,000 on him to win to profit just $100. For MacKinnon, he is less of a lock at -475 to win but still is the favorite by a large margin.

Jokic won two MVPs in 2021 and 2022 before Joel Embiid won it last season. MacKinnon has yet to win an MVP but has come close in the voting multiple seasons. He currently has 51 goals on the year with three games remaining.
