Do the Suns have Enough Depth?

Suns at Wizards 11/21/16

The Phoenix Suns have one of the best Big 3s in the NBA, there is not doubt about that. However, do they need more depth on this team and are the new additions going to be enough for them to make a run to the NBA Finals?

Having depth during the regular season is extremely important but less so in the playoffs as starters play increased minutes. Besides Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker people forget they have DeAndre Ayton as well. Those are four really good players. Now they just need to find a few more players who can play 20 or more minutes per night at a high level.

The Suns went out and signed a good amount of players who are seen as good but not great. Recently they signed Bol Bol, who sounds great but has bounced around the league his entire career. Phoenix also traded Cam Payne, who could have been their starting point guard, over the weekend.

The top candidates to be their fifth through seventh options are Jordan Goodwin, Keita Bates-Diop, and Josh Okogie. They did do a good job of bringing in or retaining players with potential as well like TJ Warren, Terrence Ross, and Drew Eubanks. Any of those players can be a top option off of the bench and they likely will cycle through these players until they find the rotation they like.

Overall the Phoenix Suns will be okay. They have four really good players and set themselves up to find key role players for the playoffs during the regular season. It should be a fun season for Suns fans.
