Early NBA Surprises

The NBA Playoffs are off and running. Let’s look at some of the biggest surprises so far early in this postseason.

Orlando Magic vs Cleveland Cavaliers

This series was expected to be a close one. It’s still early but the Magic have not looked good and have dropped the first two games without looking competitive in either game. They have lost both games by double digits. Now the Magic will go back home to take on the Cavs in Orlando. Just a couple weeks ago it looked like the Magic could have landed the two seed before collapsing at the end of the regular season which has bled over to the postseason.

Close and Gross Wins

Both the Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks were seen as fairly big favorites. They have both won two games so far in the series before they will head on the road but these wins have been rough. Denver had to come back in both games to get their wins while the Knicks have struggled and got some ugly wins in close contests. Additionally, we saw an ugly win from the No. 1 seed in the West, the Oklahoma City Thunder. This was against the New Orleans Pelicans without their best player, Zion Williamson. CJ McCollum had a shot to win the game at the end for the Pelicans that would have been a major upset in game one.
