The NBA trade deadline is today and already there have been a ton of moves. These trades haven’t been around star players, but they are some impactful ones to break down.
The New York Knicks get Deeper, Pistons do Pistons Things
The Knicks already have a short rotation but now they have gotten deeper by acquiring Bojan Bogdonovic. He will likely have a lesser role than he did in Detroit but should be impactful along with Alec Burks who has been great this year. The Pistons got Quentin Grimes in this deal and Malachi Flynn but only landed two second-round picks. They also released Joe Harris and Killian Hayes getting nothing for them.
Dallas Mavericks Add Bigs
Rookie Derek Lively has been great but has been often injured and had little depth behind him. Now the Mavericks acquired Daniel Gafford and PJ Washington. These are massive upgrades. Washington can shoot and score while Gafford is a good hustle player and another lob threat.
76ers Make some Minor Moves
Philadelphia added some shooting and scoring for when Joel Embiid returns. The 76ers traded for Buddy Hield, one of the league’s best shooters, and Cam Payne. They gave up Patrick Beverley, Marcus Morris, Furkhan Korkmaz, Danuel House, and three second-round picks in the two deals.
There is surely to be other moves at the deadline we will break down coming up.
