How Good Can the Jets Be?

The New York Jets made the biggest move of the NFL offseason by acquiring future hall of famer and former four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers to be their starting quarterback. After a promising season last year where they had terrible quarterback play, Rodgers seems to be the final piece that could turn this team into a contender.

Jets fans will have to live in the present as Aaron Rodgers is on tilt to retire following any season now. Some people think that he is washed as a quarterback but that may be far from the truth.

Last season was one of his worst ever statistically with 12 interceptions and just 26 touchdowns. The stipulation of his surrounding team being the worst ever he has played with has to be taken into consideration though. His leading receiver last year was Allen Lazard who had been his No. 3 wide receiver in years prior and after that it was two rookies. This came following back-to-back MVP seasons from Rodgers in 2020 and 2021.

Hope for 2023 in New York

In New York Rodgers will get to throw to one of the best young wide receivers who has a chance to be a huge NFL star, Garrett Wilson. Wilson had over 1,100 yards last year with terrible quarterback play and the Jets also signed Lazard, Mecole Hardman from the Chiefs, his boy Randall Cobb, and still have Corey Davis on the roster. Running back Breece Hall has shown flashes of being great as well when healthy.

The offense looks good but the defense may be even better. Sauce Gardner was a legit shutdown corner already in his first season and they ranked as a top four defense statistically last season.

It is a Super Bowl or bust season this year with Aaron Rodgers, this impressive offensive cast, and a lockdown defense.
