James Harden Trade Aftermath

James Harden was traded in the middle of the night of October 30th and it was the first major deal of the NBA season. After requesting three trades from three different teams, Harden has now been traded to the Clippers, the team he had requested to be traded to.

Along with Harden comes PJ Tucker. The 76ers in return mostly got draft compensation that is way out in the future. As far as players, Philadelphia got Kenyon Martin Jr., Marcus Morris, Robert Covington, and Nic Batum. It’s a bundle of guys that play the 3 or 4 position. Additionally, the 76ers released shooting guard Danny Green. There are rumors that Tobias Harris will also be moved.

After this trade the Clippers find themselves tied with the Warriors as the 5th favorite to win the NBA championship with the Lakers narrowly behind them. It remains to be seen how this Clippers team will work with all of these stars.

The Clippers are going all in. This is a big move that could put the Clippers as the favorites in the West for some people. Obviously, with the stars they have on their team, health is always a question. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have been riddled with injuries since being on the team. A ton of their success still depends on their ability to stay healthy.
