James Harden Trade Scenarios

James Harden opted in to his deal with the Philadelphia 76ers but now is requesting a trade. Let’s look at three trade options that different NBA teams could offer for Harden.

Los Angeles Clippers

It is rumored that the Clippers are one of the teams most interested in trading for Harden. They likely want to form a Big 3 with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George in a deal for Harden. That means they could offer Philadelphia a package such as Norman Powell, Marcus Morris, and Bones Hyland plus picks. Powell is a good scoring option and 6th man plus getting Bones and a ton of picks may be a good deal for Philly.

New York Knicks

The Knicks are always after a star and they are rumored to be interested in Harden as well. The Knicks could give up Julius Randle and Immanuel Quickley and possibly not have to give up a ton of picks to get Harden. Or they could trade Randle plus Quentin Grimes and add more picks in to the deal. Philly then could build around dominating big men in Joel Embiid and Randle.

Houston Rockets

Harden has been linked to a return to Houston but many people thought it would be through agency until he accepted his player option. Houston could still make a trade for him and have tons of young players to trade away to get him in Philadelphia wants to rebuild and also trade Embiid. Houston could offer a four for one deal that would send Jalen Green, Jabari Smith Jr., Tari Eason, and Jae’Sean Tate to the 76ers for Harden.
