On Wednesday night, the Utah Jazz had the Laker’s number all night long heading into the NBA All Star break. The Lakers lost Anthony Davis to a sprained ankle in the first half after 17 points from him in 16 minutes, and they were down seven at halftime.
This seemed like another Lakers game where they hang around down between three and 15 all game but end up losing.
With six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Hassan Whiteside hit two free throws to put the Jazz up 12. A Lakers run had to happen now for their final push to win the game.
That run over the next two minutes was led by Russell Westbrook and Austin Reaves as they cut the lead to just five.
Then Lebron took over.
Lebron scored the next seven points to take the lead and put the Lakers on a 16-2 run.
The two teams went back and forth over the last two minutes, but the game was capped by a Lebron assist to Reaves for three to put the Lakers up by four with just 17 seconds remaining.
After some Russell Westbrook free throws, the Lakers ended up winning the game 106-101 to head into the All Star break with some momentum for their playoff run.
