Mavericks Playoff Hopes Still Alive

The Dallas Mavericks have undergone a massive tumble in the NBA Western Conference standings. They are now 11th in the conference which means if the season ended today they would not even make the play-in games. Dallas was fifth in the West when they acquired Kyrie Irving.

Dallas has the same record as the Oklahoma City Thunder but the thunder hold the tiebreaker. These two teams will be battling it out for their remaining two regular season games to determine who will get the last spot.

Last night the Mavericks narrowly were able to beat the Sacramento Kings, who are third in the conference, in a comeback win. The two remaining games for the team are winnable against Chicago, who is 38-42, and the Spurs, who are tanking and not playing most of thier starters.

Even if Dallas wins these games they need OKC to lose at least one of their remaining games. The Thunder play a depleted Jazz team tonight and then they will plat the Grizzlies in their final game.

This is one of the most exciting end of season scenarios to watch. Dallas has star power with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving but they will need some help from the Thunder to get into the play-in game.
