NBA Breakout Candidates for 2025

The NBA season is still a ways away but in this one we will get an early look at some players who could break out next year.

Keyonte George Utah Jazz

Last year as a rookie Keyonte George showed some flashes of being a really good player in the league. He finished the year averaging 13 points and 4.4 assists per game. The numbers were solid for a player who was getting inconsistent minutes and playing a lot off the bench. Next year with potentially one or three of their leading scorers being on a new team George should play more minutes and up those averages by quite a bit.

Cade Cunningham Detroit Pistons

Somehow Cade Cunningham averaged 22.7 points and 7.5 assists last year in just 33 minutes per night. As the clear star on the Pistons who expect to be better this season I could see him averaging 35 minutes per game and over 25 points. Detroit will have better spacing with the addition of some shooters around him.

Jalen Johnson Atlanta Hawks

The Hawks didn’t draft Alex Sarr so Jalen Johnson should be a lock to start at power forward and probably be their second option on offense. He has great size and athleticism and can get his own shot. He averaged just 16 points last year but could push that over 20 easily next year.
