NBA Christmas Covid Catastrophe Coming?

The NBA has five games scheduled for Christmas Day. It is one of the most highly anticipated NBA regular season days of the year and usually will draw the greatest audience viewership out of any NBA games on the regular season schedule. Like most other Christmas Day games, it will be filled with a plethora of NBA stars. That is if the games happen and if the stars are able to play.

Recent NBA games have been postponed due to too many players on a team testing positive for Covid. The Brooklyn Nets are one team that has had their last two games postponed due to Covid protocols and it remains to be seen if their Christmas Day game will even occur against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Another game on the schedule to open up the day of NBA on Christmas is when Trae Young returns to Madison Square Garden after his memorable playoff series against the Knicks last playoffs. The Hawks had their December 19th game postponed and Young has missed their last few games along with a couple other starters.

The NBA has said that they are not ruling out postponing games on Christmas and it could make for a lesser day of basketball if these two games or others are ruled out.
