NBA MVP is Very Much a Tight Race

The NBA MVP race usually is fairly narrowed down by this point in the season. It commonly will be between just a few players. As we get further into the season we will see this get even tighter. Right now there are five players you could make the case for. Let’s look at these five here:

Jayson Tatum

The Celtics have the most wins in the league at 22. Tatum is fifth in the NBA in scoring. Enough said.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

The same goes for Giannis. The Bucks also have 22 wins, tied with the Celtics for the most in the NBA. Giannis is third in the league in scoring and also fifth in rebounding.

Joel Embiid

Quietly Embiid is having an MVP worthy season. He is leading the league in scoring and has the 76ers in the fifth spot in the East.

Nikola Jokic

The scoring has fallen off a bit for Jokic this year but he is just 0.8 assists per game away from averaging a triple double right now and the Nuggets are leading the Western Conference.

Luka Doncic

Luka is second in the NBA in scoring and averaging over eight assists and rebounds per game for the Mavericks who are narrowly hanging onto a current play-in spot in the West.
