NBA Play-In Games Don’t Disappoint

The NBA play-in games tipped off on Wednesday and the first two games did not disappoint. There are still four more games to be played in this fairly new format in the NBA before we head into the playoffs. Let’s take a look at some of the action.

In the first game the Lakers were able to come back against the Pelicans despite 40 points from Zion Williamson. The Pelicans are dealing with some injuries, including to Zion at the end of the game, but the Lakers looked strong. Los Angeles advances to the playoffs to face the Nuggets in the first round while the Pelicans have another chance to get in vs the Kings on Friday.

The Kings eliminated the Warriors in their play-in game on Tuesday after last season when the Warriors eliminated them in the first round. This was a huge win for the Kings but they still will have to beat the Pelicans on Friday for a chance to play the Thunder in the first round. We will see how healthy the Pelicans are for this game but they beat the Kings in all five games they played against them this year.

In the Eastern Conference there has yet to be a game played in the play in. The Heat and 76ers will play for the 7th seed and the loser will play the winner of Atlanta and Chicago. Those games take place on Wednesday and the final game will be played on Friday as well.
