The NBA trade deadline is on February 9th. Every year a dozen or so deals go down around this time. We have already seen some big moves, so let’s predict some more deals that could happen.
Jakob Poeltl traded to the Warriors
The Spurs have turned into sellers after they let go of Demar Derozan last year. Now they should be looking unload some of their talent on the roster that could help other teams compete this season. Poeltl has had been rumored to be moved and the Warriors need an upgrade at center over Kevon Looney. Getting Poeltl for a prospect like James Wiseman and a pick could help both teams.
Nerlens Noel traded to the Kings
The Kings have surprisingly been really good this year. They are currently third in the Western Conference because of their scoring ability. They need to upgrade their defense though. When Sabonis is out of the lineup they don’t get much defensively out of their center. Noel would be a big upgrade who could play those remaining 15-18 minutes when Sabonis is sitting. Detroit could get a pick for Noel in return.
Eric Gordon traded to the Suns
It was evident that Phoenix struggled to score without Devin Booker in the lineup. They could use Eric Gordon’s scoring off the bench on this team. It could be a missing peice that will help them in a playoff run. Phoenix may have to give up a first-round pick for him.
