The annual NFL Hall of Fame Game is here and will be played on Thursday, August 3rd between the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns in Cleveland. The Jets have already said that their starters will not suit up but we could see some of the Browns starters for at least a possession or two.
Zach Wilson’s Progression
Zach Wilson will see plenty of opportunities in this game to play and show that he can at least be a serviceable backup QB this year. After two bad years in the NFL, Wilson now just has to prove he belongs in the league by the time his next contract is up as starting is out of the window with Aaron Rodgers on the team.
The Browns’ Offense
If the Browns do play their starters they will be going against mostly the Jets’ backup defenders. Cleveland’s offense honestly looked better before Deshaun Watson joined the team last year so he will have to take a big jump this season for this team to make the playoffs. If they can’t get anything going against backups, it will be really concerning with the season just over a month away now.
Top Jets Players to Follow
The Jets will be on “Hard Knocks” this year and there are always those fringe players they follow who may make the roster or not. This will be the first chance to get a look at some of those guys who will be the stars of the show.
