Every year players in the NFL take the jump from an average contributor, or even a backup, to a star. Let’s look at three players who could make that jump in 2023.
D’Onta Foreman Chicago Bears
This is a player that we talked about in our position battles article. D’Onta Foreman has been really good when given a chance but he has started the season every year in his career as the backup. He hasn’t been able to show his stuff until the running back ahead of him gets hurt or traded. Foreman should be able to win the starting job in Chicago and have a standout season on an improved team in 2023.
Jordan Love Green Bay Packers
There has been a lot of hype around Jordan Love for years as he backed up Aaron Rodgers. Finally he will get his shot this season to be the starter after the Packers traded away Rodgers this offseason. Some of the hype has cooled down around Love but he still could have a massive season and shock the league.
Kadarius Toney Kansas City Chiefs
Kadarius Toney has always been a hyped-up prospect since he entered the league in 2021 but he hasn’t been healthy or given a big role on a team yet. The Chiefs acquired him last season and he made an impact on their Super Bowl run but he still could have a lot more to show this season.
