The upcoming 2023 NFL season is sure to be another good one. These players have a lot to prove this year.
The Las Vegas Raiders made a huge decision to let go of Derek Carr and sign Jimmy G to a big deal. They gave him a three-year contract for $73 million with an $11 million signing bonus. Jimmy G has won everywhere he has gone and the Raiders hope he can lead them to a deep playoff run. If he can’t, he could never get a chance to be a starter week 1 in the NFL ever again.
The Raiders moved on from their longtime quarterback. Now Carr is the franchise player for the New Orleans Saints. It was a big disappointment last season for the Saints but now with Carr, Michael Thomas, Chris Olave, and Alvin Kamara, they could be extremely dangerous in a weak division.
After seven years in the NFL, with five of them being arguably the best running back in the league, Derrick Henry will have to prove he can still do it at 29-years-old. That is old for a running back, especially one with this many carries under his belt. With just one more year on his deal he will be fighting to get another big contract. This season is imperative for him.
