NFL Rookie of the Year Favorites

Offensive Rookie of the Year

CJ Stroud has looked like the frontrunner for the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year for the majority of the season. He has gotten the Houston Texans some big wins and put up impressive numbers. A sleeper has come up recently in the past few weeks in the Miami Dolphins’ running back De’Von Achane. Achane doesn’t get the most touches but does a lot with them. Even though he got no carries or catches in week one and just two touches in week two, he is still second in rushing yards in the entire league. Puka Nacua is the third candidate but may regress a bit with Cooper Kupp back for the Los Angeles Rams.

Defensive Rookie of the Year

Many people thought that Jalen Carter was going to be a top-3 pick but he slid down for various reasons to the Philadelphia Eagles at No. 9. After two sacks in their win over the Rams, Carter is leading the way. Close behind him in Devon Witherspoon who has emerged as a playmaker for the Seattle Seahawks, especially as Jamal Adams has struggled to stay on the field. He’s already being compared to Deion Sanders but right now what has hurt him is he has only played three games. He’ll need to play more and keep making plays to be considered the favorite.
