Patrick Mahomes Could be 11th-Highest-Paid QB

Heading into the 2024 NFL season Patrick Mahomes could the 11th-highest-paid quarterback in the league. For a quarterback who has now won three Super Bowls and is the undisputed best in the league, this is an interesting topic. Right now so many quarterbacks are getting extensions or big deals that he is getting passed up.

Mahomes right now is the sixth-highest-paid quarterback but that will soon change. Behind him, until the deals are official, are Trevor Lawrence, Jordan Love, Jalen Hurts, and Justin Herbert. All of those players will have their new contracts kick in that will surpass Mahomes in 2024.

Patrick Mahomes signed a 10-year contract to pay him an average of $45 million per season. It seemed like a ton at the time but now with some average quarterbacks making so much, Mahomes deal seems low. Players like Daniel Jones and Deshaun Watson are two names you wouldn’t think that would make more than Mahomes per season, but they do.

The money on the NFL and the NBA seem to go up every year. Locking in these super long-term deals has been a strategy by teams to get deals. In the moment they seem like big money but in a few years they are not.
