The Phoenix Suns came out of nowhere last season to make it all the way to the NBA Finals despite some other quality teams in the Western Conference. They were ultimately unable to win the championship, but this year they are the clear favorites.
The Suns currently have a large lead for first place in the West and have the best record in the entire NBA. They also have an easier path than any team in the Eastern Conference to make it to the finals.
This team is led by Devin Booker and Chris Paul. The combination of them two makes up one of the best backcourts in the league, if not the best. Booker looks like an MVP candidate as he is averaging nearly 27 points per game on the best team in the league. Paul has done great himself as the leader of this team and tops the NBA in assists per game as he recently returned from a broken hand.
Other contenders to come out of the West start and end with the Memphis Grizzlies. Apart from them, the Los Angeles Clippers could be seen as contenders if they get Kawhi Leonard back in the lineup, but until then, they won’t be taken seriously.
The East has a ton of contenders which make it harder to predict who will come out of that conference. Whoever does will give a great Finals series to the Suns most likely.
