Predicting First Time NBA All Stars

Every year there are first time All Stars in the NBA. Last season there were quite a few but this year there may not be so many clear cut options. Let’s look at some of the top candidates to be a first time All Star.

Palo Banchero

Paolo Banchero won rookie of the year last season and averaged 20 points per game but was not in the All Star game. This year his numbers have been on a slight rise but the more important things are that he is way more efficient and the Magic are winning. Banchero has improved his three-point percentage from 29 to 39 and his overall field goal percentage from 47 to 52.

Desmond Bane

The Memphis Grizzlies haven’t been winning many games but Desmond Bane is averaging 25 points per game. Ja Morant returns to the team in a week and could help this team win more games which in turn would make Bane look better. Bane also may even improve his stats with a player like Morant on the court.

Tyrese Maxey

After the 76ers traded James Harden, Tyrese Maxey took on a much bigger role. Last year as the third option he averaged just over 20 points per game and this year he has increased that up to 27. He’s also almost doubled his assist output from 3.5 to nearly 7 per game. With those stats on a winning team, he should be a lock to be an All Star.
