Predicting the Next Spots for these Quarterbacks

Two former starting NFL quarterbacks are on the trade market. Both are coming off shoulder injuries and will be essentially benched for their respective teams. Baker Mayfield and Jimmy Garoppolo would arguably be upgrades right now for a handful of teams. We predict where they could land:

Baker Mayfield

The Baker Mayfield offseason saga continues as he still has yet to find another team after the Browns and him have mutually agreed to part ways. Currently, the Browns could be without Deshaun Watson and could probably use Mayfield. In the case he is dealt, the Carolina Panthers could be an option if Sam Darnold doesn’t work out, as it was rumored they looked to trade for him during the draft this year. Another team that could use him is Seattle, as they have a shaky quarterback room that could use Mayfield as part of their rebuild.

Jimmy Garoppolo

The 49ers tried to trade Jimmy Garoppolo, but there were no takers due to his shoulder surgery this offseason. If he fully recovers, the Panthers could use his services if they don’t land Mayfield. With Seattle being in the same division as the 49ers, it is unlikely they trade him there. Pittsburgh seems like the best option if they are winning and need an upgrade at quarterback to make a late-season push.
