Race to the Bottom in the NBA!

There is obviously hype around this upcoming NBA draft class. The two prizes at the top is what is exciting teams the most. The 7 foot 4 Victor Wembanyama is being rumored as the best prospect since Lebron James and Scoot Henderson could be the next great scoring guard in the league similarly to Ja Morant. These teams are looking like they are racing to the bottom to draft them and these could be some of the worst teams we have seen in the league in quite a while.

San Antonio Spurs

In just the past few years the Spurs traded their star Demar Derozan and their next star after Derozan, Dejounte Murray who was an All Star last year. They also got rid of Derrick White, Rudy Gay, and Lamarcus Aldridge in this time period. The team this year may have zero players who start on a team like the Warriors, Celtics, Lakers, or even the Kings. Keldon Johnson is their best player?

Charlotte Hornets

The Hornets were fairly good last year. They made it to the play-in game in the 10th spot and not the playoffs but they lost their second-best player for this year in Miles Bridges. Someone will have to step up in a big way to help their two guards Terry Rozier and LaMelo Ball score. Those two also don’t play defense along with some other key players like projected starters Mason Plumlee, PJ Washington, and Gordon Hayward, who also has regressed significantly on offense.

Indiana Pacers

This team is built like the current Spurs team. They traded all of their best players away in Victor Oladpio, Domantas Sabonis, and Malcolm Brogdon. They are now left with a very young and raw Tyrese Haliburton and the rookie Bennedict Mathurin to try to carry the scoring load while they also are projected to have a bad defense.
