It is no secret now that Shohei Ohtani is a special player in the MLB. On Thursday, July 27th he reminded people how special he is.
The Los Angeles Angels had a double-header and Ohtani was on the mound for the first game but also hitting second in the lineup. He showed he was a true dominant pitcher in this first game throwing all nine innings on his way to his first complete-game shutout. It was truly a remarkable performance but he left fans wanting more from the plate as he went 0-5.
Fans got what they wanted in the second game as Ohtani obviously didn’t pitch but he was still in the batting lineup. He hit just three at bats to give him a little rest but that was all he needed. Ohtani blasted two home runs in those at bats and three RBIs as the Agnels went on to win 11-4.
Shoehei Ohtani might have had his greatest performance yet in the MLB on Thursday. It was truly a remarkable day that baseball fans will remember for a long time.
Fans next chance to see him pitch will likely be on Wednesday, August 3rd in Atlanta when the Angels take on the star-studded lineup of the Braves.
