Stephen Curry needed just one three pointer to tie the all-time three point record for most NBA career made three pointers and two to break the record. The stage was set on Tuesday night in Madison Square Garden in New York City. A perfect setting for this historic record to be broken.
Curry was on a mission to get the record as soon as he could in the game. He took his first three pointer just over one minute into the game as Curry fired a 29 foot three that was nothing but net. He had just tied the record. He then fired away on the Warriors next time down the court but missed this one. Curry wouldn’t miss his next opportunity as he caught a pass from Andrew Wiggins and sunk the record breaking three.
Stephen Curry is now the NBA’s all-time leader for three pointers in a career. He passed Ray Allen who was in attendance to watch and congratulate Curry on his accomplishment. Also in attendance was former NBA player and Stephen Curry’s father Dell Curry who shared a hug with him following the timeout that was called after the record breaking shot went through the net.
