The Dolphins Offensive Explosion

It seems that people were quick to forget how good this Miami Dolphins offense was last year before Tua Tagovailoa got injured. Everyone was reminded of that on the opening Sunday of the 2023 NFL season.

Tua threw for 466 yards and three touchdowns against the Los Angeles Chargers and led the team on a the game-winning touchdown drive that ended with under two minutes left to play. His favorite target had a massive game as well. Tyreek Hill reeled in 11 catches for a whopping 215 yards and two touchdowns.

It was also good to see other wide receivers get involved in the offense like River Cracraft, Braxton Berrios, and even tight end Durham Smythe. With Jeff Wilson going on the IR, running back Raheem Mostert looked good at times but finished with just 37 yards rushing on 10 attempts. It did not matter in this game though as the Dolphins’ offense rolled behind the passing game.

Moving forward more respect should be paid to this offense and especially Tyreek Hill. Alongside him is another dangerous weapon in Jaylen Waddle, so defenses can’t just double Hill or focus solely on him. That is another reason why this offense is so good. Next week the Dolphins will be tested against a strong Patriots defense.
