The Heat Won’t Go Away

The Denver Nuggets won game one of the NBA Finals and everyone expected them to win the second game as well at home. Jimmy Butler and the Heat had other ideas and came back in the game to take the lead in the end. Denver had a run of their own towards the closing minutes of the game that was cut short by a missed Jamal Murray three that would have tied the game with just over two seconds remaining.

In game two the Heat were 8.5-point underdogs yet they won the game outright, easily covering the spread. Now the Heat will go back to Miami with the series tied 1-1 and a chance to take a commanding lead in the NBA Finals over the Denver Nuggets.

For game three the Heat are still underdogs by 2.5 points, even back at home. This Heat team refuses to go away and every time it seems they are out of it they bounce back with a big win.

It is hard to argue that Denver doesn’t have more overall talent but the Heat have proved they have an edge with their determination and grit to keep coming back. Game three will be another test for Miami that they will look to pass.
