The 2022 NHL Stanley Cup Finals started out looking like the favorite Colorado Avalanche were going to take the series with ease over the two-time-defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning.
Colorado took game 1 early into the first overtime period to win 4-3. Game 2 was not as close. The Avalanche won 7-0. This had people really believing that the series was going to be over.
Game 3 looked to be more of the same when the Avalanche scored an early goal. After that though, it was all Lightning. Tampa Bay scored three goals straight on their way to a 6-2 win in game three.
The next game will be a home game for the Lightning again. Colorado is having big time questions about their goalie situation. It is rumored that the starter, Darcy Kuemper, will be on thin ice. If he gives up an easy goal, then look for him to be replaced again.
The Avalanche are betting favorites again for game 4, even though they are on the road. Look for them to come out strong to try to keep the lead in the series. The Lightning will obviously be looking to tie the series up and should have full confidence that they can do so on Wednesday night.
