Top NFL Breakout Candidates — Washington Football Team at Denver Broncos from Empower Field, Denver, Colorado, October 31st, 2021 (All-Pro Reels Photography

The NFL draft is done and now we have a good look at what each team’s depth chart will look like. Let’s look at some potential breakout players for this upcoming season.

Marquise Brown Kansas City Chiefs

Brown has a ton of talent. We definitely saw that early on in his career with the Baltimore Ravens and in flashes with the Arizona Cardinals. This season with Patrick Mahomes as his quarterback he is in his best situation by far. Brown even has a really good chance to be the No. 1 wide receiver in this offense with the potential looming suspension of Rashee Rice. With his speed in this offense, he could put up some ridiculous stat lines.

Drew Lock New York Giants

Lock was pretty bad with the Denver Broncos but the team around him was bad as well. Last season with Seattle he was in a QB competition with Geno Smith before losing the starting job. Smith played well enough to stay on the field and Seattle couldn’t keep Lock from other teams this offseason. On the giants he is slated to be the starter, at least until Daniel Jones is healthy. With Malik Nabers now on the team Lock could have a strong start to the season and potentially stay the starter if they are winning with him.

Greg Dulcich Denver Broncos

This is a weird one. Dulcich has a ton of talent as a receiving tight end and with the lack of other talent on this roster he could be the main target, especially if they move Courtland Sutton like the rumors say they will. It was expected that Denver would draft a tight end and because they didn’t it must mean they like Dulcich. If he is healthy he could be a breakout candidate.
