Top Performances from NFL Week 1

Week 1 of the NFL is in the books and there were some massive performances. Let’s look at some of the top performers from the first week.

Quarterback

Tua Tagovailoa had the Dolphins’ offense rolling. He threw for by far the most yards in the week with 466 and added three touchdown passes as well. Kirk Cousins and Matt Stafford also threw for well over 300 yards but Cousins failed to get his team a victory. Derek Carr eclipsed 300 yards in his debut with the Saints that resulted in a win.

Running Back

Christian McCaffrey led the way with 152 yards rushing, 65 of which came on a spin move and run for touchdown. Austin Ekeler also had a nice day as he finished with 117 yards rushing and 47 receiving in one of the games of the week against the Dolphins. A surprise was Joshua Kelley also from the Chargers who added 91 yards on the ground.

Wide Receiver

Tyreek Hill had a monster day with 215 yards receiving on 11 catches with two touchdowns. Brandon Aiyuk had his best NFL game so far in his career with two touchdowns and 129 yards. Two Rams players were surprises without Cooper Kupp as Tutu Atwell and Puka Nacua had huge days with exactly 119 yards a piece in a big win for the Rams.
