Victor Oladipo Looks Good in His Season Debut

Victor Oladipo made his season debut for the Miami Heat Monday night. He hadn’t played in an NBA game since April of 2021. At the trade deadline in 2021 Oladipo was traded from the Houston Rockets to the Heat. He only played four games for the Heat before enduring the injury that had kept him out until now.

In his season debut this year he scored 11 points in 14 minutes with four assists on 4-7 from the field. It was definitely a promising first game for him. On his first basket he hit a corner three and thanked Kyle Lowry for the assist. In the fourth, after an aggressive drive, he also threw down a dunk.

He looked good in his first game of the season, but he likely will remain on a strict minute limit for a while. Players coming back from serious injury usually take a good amount of time before returning to a heavy minutes load.

The Miami Heat might even keep Oladipo’s minutes low the rest of the year. They were in first place in the Eastern Conference without him so there is no reason for him to begin to take significant minutes away from any of their current players if they keep winning.
